Welcome to my kitchen!
My name is Amy and I’m a new blogger and this blog is all
about food, mostly Asians and Vietnamese food!
I’m a full time accountant and a housewife who loves to be
in the kitchen and cook.
I remembered when I was little and whenever we have family
gathering, it’d take days and night just to prepare the food for the family
event. And as curious as a little girl, I’d followed my aunts around the
kitchen, offered my help. There were no recipes to follow back then, it was
more of an estimate on the ingredients but the food came out perfect every
single time!!! As I grew older and we
moved to the United States, I’d helped my mom cook for the family and learned
some kitchen techniques from her.
My passion for cooking became prominent when I got married a
couple years ago. Now I can’t depend on my mom’s cooking for me all the time
anymore (no more “Mom, I’m hungry, please feed me!!” J). I was struggling with
recipes because I found myself cooking the same dishes every week. I only have
a handful of dishes that I know by heart like: quick spaghetti, pork chops, or
chicken dishes. And as much as my
husband enjoyed a few dishes I have on hand, I feel like I should start making
new dishes for him (I’m such a good wife, I know “wink”!!)
I started looking up at recipes and adding my own
ingredients but I always lose those recipes and always find myself going back
to remember which ingredients I’ve added or used. Then the purpose of a food
blog came along. I’m writing this blog mostly to share my passion for cooking
as well as a place to keep recipes for myself and to others who are passionate
about cooking as I am. I’m not a professional blogger and not a writer, and
still in the process to learn so any advices or comments will greatly be
appreciated.
